The importance of Boards of Directors is often (too often) under-rated. However, boards are featuring more and more often on the newspapers, on TV, on social media. Unfortunately, more often than not, boards are on the spotlight not because of their successes but because of their failures.
Why? Perhaps there is a lack of understanding among stakeholders (board directors and not directors alike) as to what boards do or are supposed do? Or perhaps there are too many ineffective boards out there?

THE EFFECTIVE BOARD INITIATIVE
Being it lack of understanding or just shortage of effective boards, trying to solve the problem is a truly monumental task. A task that not a single initiative can possibly undertake on its own. However, we can at least add our little grain of sand to improving the understanding of the role of boards and what makes them effective.

The Effective Board Initiative is focused on three areas (the three E's): education, evaluation, enhancement. If you want to learn more, you want to refer someone, or just want to participate in (and potentially co-sponsor) the initiative, please write to us.
